A man was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a car crashed into a telegraph pole, police have said.
Emergency services were called to Plaistow Road, in Ifold, at about 1am this morning (Monday June 27) after a red Mini Cooper left the road and crashed into the pole.
Police said a man was trapped in the car. He was released by firefighters and was treated at the scene for a head injury.
He was taken to Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford for further treatment, officers added.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said the crash caused oil to spill onto the road, forcing it to close for more than an hour.
The spillage was dealt with and the road was re-opened by 2.45am.
Police said a 22-year-old man from Loxwood was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.
