Police and land ambulance crews were also in attendance.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: “Police and ambulance crews attended an address in Park Way, Horsham, shortly before 6pm yesterday following a report that a man was suffering from a wound to his stomach.

“When police arrived a man in his 50s was discovered with a small puncture wound which had been received following an argument between the victim and a woman who was known to him.

“The argument and assault took place within the property and no-one else is believed to have been involved or injured as a result.”

A spokesperson for the air ambulance told the County Times: “The male was taken by land ambulance to a major trauma centre at Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton accompanied by our doctor and critical care paramedic.

“It is a trauma injury and not believed to be life-threatening.”

The man received minor treatment and was released on the same day.
