Thousands of pounds worth of jewellery was stolen in a smash and grab raid yesterday (Thursday November 7) afternoon at a Cranleigh jewellery store.
The incident happened at an independent outlet at Smithbrook Kilns on the A281 Horsham Road at 12.44pm.
Four men drove up to the Jon Dibben shop on the small retail site in a red Volvo.
Three men wearing balaclavas and hoods got out of the car, went into the jewellers where they smashed glass display cabinets with sledgehammers.
They grabbed handfuls of jewellery and made off at speed in the same Volvo.
The car was found burnt out nearby in Stovolds Hill.
An investigation into the robbery is ongoing and police are appealing for any witnesses to the offence or information about the car to call Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference P13339659.
Alternatively the independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
