Sussex Police have reminded drivers to take care on the roads during the morning rush hour, following high winds and heavy rain overnight.
Since midnight on Thursday 15 January police have received reports of more than 20 incidents involving trees, and some street furniture, obstructing roads, mainly in rural areas.
There are also reports of standing water in some roads.
However there have been no reports of serious crashes involving injury so far.
A Sussex Police spokesman said; “Please continue to take extra care out there this morning, look out for road obstructions and water and slow down whenever necessary.”
There is slow traffic traffic on the A272 near Buck Barn crossroads due to a fallen tree and flooding.
The road is just passable between the High Street junction and the crossroads in West Grinstead.
