Police smash open door to tackle ‘dispute’ at Horsham home

Police smashed open a door to a Horsham home after two women locked themselves in and refused to leave.

Officers said they were called to a report of a dispute at a house in Stanley Walk at 1.30pm yesterday (December 12).

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Officers arrived at the scene and attempted to resolve the situation, but the women refused to open the door. With the permission of the property owner, police gained entry by force.”

Police said a 46-year-old woman of no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of common assault.

She has since been released without charge and enquiries are ongoing.
