Police in Horsham are trying to reunite a suspected stolen bike with its owner.

Police tried to stop a teenage boy riding on Kings Road just after midnight on Wednesday September 23 because he did not have any lights fitted. However he refused and rode off, turning the wrong way on a roundabout before crossing the carriageway into Foundry Lane.

He eventually stopped and when questioned by officers he said the bike belonged to her friend, however he would not give the friend’s name.

A 15-year-old boy from Horsham was arrested on suspicion of dangerous cycling, failing to stop when directed by a uniformed police constable and theft of a pedal cycle. He has been bailed until 1 November.

PC Elaine Johnson said: “We would like to find the owner of the bike which is a blue and black Scott Rockwood.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who saw something suspicious in the area at the time.”
