Pair arrested in connection with Horsham district burglaries

A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with a series of burglaries at rural homes in the Horsham district.

The 26-year-old man and 24-year-old woman, both from Worthing, were questioned after homes in Billingshurst, Henfield, Storrington were among those broken into in May, June and July.

The pair were also interviewed over a break in at Bignor Roman Villa on 10 June when a charity box was stolen and hundreds of pounds of damage was done.

The homes broken into were in West Chiltington Lane in Billingshurst, Bramlands Lane and Wheatsheaf Road in Henfield, and Woodpecker Lane and Link Hill in Storrington, as well as Balcombe Road, Crawley,

Among the items stolen were electrical equipment, jewellery and cash.

The man and the woman were questioned before being released on bail until 5 September.

In addition, a 46-year-old man has been arrested for an attempted burglary in Ridgehurst Drive, Horsham, on Monday July 28.

He was questioned on suspicion of attempted burglary before being released on bail until September 11.
