Police are appealing for information after a man was robbed at knifepoint in Horsham Park, the force has said.
Officers said a 53-year-old man was walking through the park around 8.45am yesterday (August 9) when he was approached by a man who produced a knife and demanded money.
The man handed over a quantity of cash. He was made to throw away his mobile phones and then to put his watch on the ground, officers added.
Residents reported police cordoned off part of the park as officers and members of the forensic team carried out investigations
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and in particular anyone who spoke to the victim who warned them not to go in the suspect’s direction as he left the park.”
Police said a 21-year-old man from Horsham was arrested on suspicion of robbery. He has been bailed until September 16.
