Man detained after ‘shots fired’ near Crawley College

People are being urged to avoid Crawley College after reports of shots being fired in the area.

Police said one man has been detained following the incident earlier today.

Their full statement said: “One man has been detained following reports of shots being fired near Crawley College.

“Please stay away from the area at this time.

“There is a large police presence at scene and in the local area.

“We will provide more information as soon as we are able.”

The police helicopter is at the scene, the National Police Air Service said.

Crawley College has been approached for comment.
