Jewellery stolen in Southwater and Horsham burglaries

Thieves targeted a detached property in Wildgoose Drive, off Guildford Road, in Horsham between 8.30pm and 9.20pm on Friday October 9.

It is believed several intruders entered the house and family jewellery was stolen.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: “The jewellery was very distinctive and very important to the family.

“It includes a gold Seiko ladies watch which has a fixed gold band strap, several childrens’ gold bangles, a distinctive gold ring with a goat’s head feature, and a delicate gold necklace and bracelet worn at a wedding which has links in the shape of small upturned castle fortifications/turrets, studded with diamonds.”

The intruders left the garden over a hedge on to Guildford Road near Farthings Vets.

At 9pm the following day (Saturday October 10), a group of people broke into a house in Turners Close, Southwater.

It is believed a group of five intruders entered the property and stole jewellery, and hard discs from the computer.

The jewellery consisted of two gold rings - one which has a central green emerald stone surrounded by smaller diamonds, the other having a central blue topaz stone with diamonds around it.

The hard disks are ‘Weston Digital Red Drives’ and are distinctive in that they are black shiny boxes with a silver metal panel on one side and labelled with red writing. These could have been dumped by the offenders.

Anyone who finds these items or who saw any suspicious behaviour that evening in the area of Turners Close, which is off Cripplegate Lane in Southwater, can contact police via [email protected] or call 101, quoting serial 527 of 11/10.
