Horsham District Council said there was ‘simply no excuse’ to fly tip after the pile of waste was discovered on Sunday at the entrance to the Downs Link.
A spokesman urged the public to help the council find the ‘not-very-nice person’ who fly-tipped a ‘distinctive’ sofa and cushions between 6-7pm on Sunday August 23.
The waste was dumped at the entrance to the Downs Link from Mill Lane at Baystone, he added.
