Burglars take gold and currency from Horsham house

Police are investigating a burglary at Horsham house in which valuable jewellery and cash in various currencies was stolen.

The house in Woodgates Close, was broken into overnight on Friday 13 to Saturday 14 December whilst the occupants were away.

Chinese gold bracelets, pendants, lockets, watches ear-rings and necklaces valued at £20,000 were taken.

Also taken were various amounts of different currencies; £1,800 to £2,000 in UK Sterling, £300 to 400 in Swedish Kroners; £1,000 in US dollars; £300-400 in Singapore Dollars; £500 worth in Mauritian Rupees and £400 worth in Hong Kong Dollars.

Detective Constable Karen Young said; “If anyone saw suspicious activity in the area at that time, or has been offered jewellery or currency like this since 14 December, we ask them to contact us via 101 or email [email protected] quoting serial 237 of 14/12.
