Despite a spectacular performance of A Little Respect by Erasure, the 21-year-old singer from Eastbourne lost out on a chance at the final selection after coming under criticism from judge Rita Ora and guest Meghan Trainor.

The pair raised concerns over Chloe’s nervousness on stage and said they had worries about her stage presence.

Judge Rita said, “I was always worried about what would make her stand out. She’s got an amazing voice, but is that it?”

Meghan said, “I’ll give her props for that high note. She looked good. She looked like in some parts she really enjoyed it.”

Fans slammed the judge’s decision taking to social media to call out the pair.

Vicki Disney said, “Well Rita made a bad choice. It should have been you to go through.”

Andris Rubenis said, “I can’t believe you are out Chloe Paige. You have the best voice there by far. You should have won, I was going to vote for you.”

Serena Crisp said, “I’m absolutely shocked you didn’t get through to the next stage on X-factor. You really deserved a place and sang your heart out every time, you’re amazing.”

While Chloe missed out on the final 12, Saturday’s show saw former resident of Eastbourne Anton Stephans sail through to the final weeks.

The 45-year-old former backing singer was picked out by Simon Cowell for the show’s over-25 category.
