A man died after being hit by a train at a railway station in Sussex last night (Friday, July 20).
Emergency services were called to Crawley Railway Station at around 10.15pm after a report a person had been struck by a train.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene but the incident is being treated as non-suspicious, according to a British Transport Police spokesman.
“Officers are currently working to establish the identity of the person, and inform their next of kin,” the spokesman said.
“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
The train involved was the 10pm Horsham to London Victoria service.
The line was reopened at about 11.55pm.
The incident led to severe disruption with all lines blocked between Horsham and Three Bridges.
A Southern spokesman said services were being diverted and replacement bus services were being put on.
