Council speaks out over 'pathetic' Horsham lift closures

Horsham District Council has spoken out after shoppers branded the Forum car park lift closures 'pathetic'.

This follows reports last week that both the lifts were out of order during 'essential maintenance'.

The work left shoppers facing a climb up several flights which prompted concern for vulnerable members of the community.

A Horsham District Council spokesperson said: "We are now pleased to confirm that one lift is fully operational."

The other lift however remains closed as engineers work to locate the mystery issue.

The spokesperson added: "A full investigation is being carried out on the second lift to determine the problem with it ."

"The Council apologises for the inconvenience caused by the breakdown of the lifts."
