Could an ice rink come to Horsham for Christmas holidays?

Plans for a pop-up ice rink in Horsham town centre for Christmas have been mooted by the town’s neighbourhood forum this week.

The Horsham Blueprint Neighbourhood Forum is currently looking to draw up a neighbourhood plan to inform and guide development in the unparished area of the town.

During a day at Tanbridge House School where pupils helped design a ‘Horsham of the future’ to promote technological awareness, students were asked what they would like to see in the town, with an ice rink high up on the list of suggestions.

Frances Haigh, chair of the Horsham Blueprint Neighbourhood Forum, said: “We have been looking into the possibility of renting a pop-up rink for the town centre at Christmas time.

“What we need to know is where it could go and whether it would be a good idea.

“We have asked HDC first if they have a site that is suitable, perhaps in Horsham Park, the Bishopric or the Forum and are awaiting their response.

“There would have to be a charge so that we cover the cost. Does anyone else have a suitable site which they would like to make available for an ice-rink?”
