Coffee for a good cause in Storrington

THE World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is coming to Storrington on September 30.

Dianne Bailey will be running a coffee morning at the Friday morning village market at the Village Hall to raise funds for Macmillan.

All the proceeds will go towards building the new Sussex Macmillan Cancer Support Centre at the Royal Sussex Hospital in Brighton, which will be for the use of people across Sussex.

“I wanted to do something for the community,” said Dianne, of Kithurst Park, Storrington.

“Two friends have recently died of cancer and we were affected by at least half a dozen other friends who are suffering with it at the moment.

“It’s something very near to my heart.”

The coffee morning will be in a separate room from the market and replace the usual coffee stall and Dianne hopes the regulars will go to the coffee morning and the event will help bring more visitors to the market.

As well as coffee there will be cakes provided by a newly launched business in West Chiltington.

There will also be a raffle and Dianne is hoping for the support of businesses with prizes.

A Macmillan competition to win £2,000 or a holiday will also be available.
