Co-op burglaries in Cowfold and Partridge Green

Co-op stores in Cowfold and Partridge Green were broken into in the small hours of Tuesday morning.

Police say intruders made off with cigarettes on each occasion.

The first burglary happened around 2.50am in High Street, Partridge Green.

Two people were seen getting into a car, which headed off towards Henfield Road.

The Co-op in The Street, Cowfold, was raided at 3.05am.

A police representative said: “A car was seen to approach the shop and two men broke through the glass to get in and a large quantity of cigarettes was taken from the display.

“The men then left in the car which went north out of the village.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting serial 285 of 13/4 or alternatively contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
