Horsham District Childminders held a Big Toddle at Horsham Park to celebrate National Childminding week (Jun 11 – 15) and to raise funds for Barnado’s, the children’s charity.
On a lovely, sunny, Wednesday June 13 around 10 childminders and their charges used the park maze to strut their stuff for a good cause.
Helen Gallacher from Little Stars Child minding service, said: “This was a great opportunity to share with the public just what a valuable job registered Childminders do, providing a smaller, home-based childcare solution for parents.”
They were ably assisted by the Horsham Leisure Link service whose coach Louis Power did some great warm up games and Paul Taylor laid on a free bouncy castle for all participants.
The morning was concluded by the awarding of certificates, a healthy snack of breadsticks and raisins for all the participants and a balloon to take home.
A great big thanks goes to Leisure Link for helping make this a pleasurable morning for these little ones aged from 6 months through to 4 years.
To donate and help them reach their target of £300 visit http://www.fundraiseforbarnardos.org.uk and look for Horsham District Childminders under the Big Toddle.
At the moment Horsham District Childminders are busy petitioning parents about a proposal to deregulate childminders. For more information look at the NCMA website under the tab, Individual Inspection Matters.
