Top children’s entertainer ‘Tomfoolery’ has become a patron of Horsham and Crawley-based charity The Springboard Project.

To celebrate he organised a triathlon of parties over one day.

For 2016 Tom Hunter aka Tomfoolery, chose The Springboard Project, to be the recipient of his Charity Tuesday fundraising, where every penny of his party fee on a Tuesday goes to the charity.

The charity organise activities for all children, but especially for children with disabilities, and have the motto ‘play and fun for everyone’.

Tom said: “I’m so honoured to become a patron for this incredibly worthwhile charity and I can’t wait to throw these parties across the Springboard centres and Horsham bandstand on the one day to really highlight how great these guys are.

“The Springboard Project does so much for children in the area, and provide a safe place for all children to play together.

“It really does important and worthwhile work, and I’m chuffed to bits to help them gain even more exposure.”

The Tomfoolery & Springboard parties took place on Wednesday June 1 from midday – 1pm at Crawley Springboard House, then 2pm – 4pm at the Horsham bandstand and 4.15pm – 5pm at the Horsham Springboard house.

Springboard Houses are open as drop-in centres for any family to bring their children and enjoy their play facilities during the week.

The centres are accessible with ceiling hoists and changing facilities and both centres have lifts.

Su Parrish, on behalf of Springboard, said: “The Springboard Project is delighted and honoured Tomfoolery has chosen to extend his support to us by becoming our first ever patron, he shares our ethos of play and fun for everyone.

“Why not come along to see for yourselves why we are so pleased he is working with us. Play and fun will be on the menu, possibly along with some baked beans!”
