Charities showcased as part of Trustees’ Week

A WEST Sussex firm is holding a wine reception to help charities link up with potential trustees.

Firm Russell New, Upper Beeding, is giving charities the opportunity to pitch for five minutes, outlining the work they do to delegates interested in volunteering as trustees.

The event is part of nationwide Trustees’ Week which runs from October 31 until November 6.

Its aim is to raise awareness on the vital role a trustee, someone in charge of a charity voluntarily, plays while also encouraging people to take part.

Mark Cummins, charities and education partner at Russell New, said: “This event will demonstrate the value of healthy debate on the merits of David Cameron’s ideas for the Big Society.

“Particularly in light of the fact that many charities and organisations who may be the key facilitators of such a society are facing real challenges in relation to their funding.”

The firm supports charities by offering advice on issues they may face now and in the future
