Delighted Horsham coaches Nick Stocker and Richard Bell saluted their players’ outstanding effort throughout the season which has led them to the London 3 South East title.
A 49-12 home win over Old Dunstonians saw the Green and Whites crowned champions this afternoon.
It sparked jubilant scenes at the full-time whistle and Stocker said: “We spoke a little earlier this season saying lets not setting too many targets, I think as we progressed we realised we had the momentum and realised everything.
“We are delighted and you can see by the way the guys have responded and celebrated, it’s no doubt good news.”
Bell added: “It’s been a lot of hard work on the training field.
“When we are not playing, we are training. People travel long distances to come and train and play for us and it’s been an absolutely fantastic effort all around.
“Not just the 18 that were here today, but the 30-odd players that have played all season, so yeah it’s an outstanding effort.”
With two games to play and a cup final to come, Stocker said they would not be holding back on the celebration tonight.
He added: “It’s likely to be messy. Let’s see what England do and it could top off a very good weekend.”
