Thanks to the work by Horsham Town Community Partnership (HTCP) improved signage and extra seating has been installed along the 13-mile circular route following the River Arun and other watercourses on the outskirts of the town.

The walk will start at Horsham Rugby Club in Hammerpond Lane on Saturday July 26 at 10am, with walkers of all ages and abilities guided and supported by trained leaders.

Jane Apostolou, chair of the HTCP, said: “We don’t expect everyone to complete every section so we have a free minibus on the day to collect tired walkers and return them to the starting point.

“In fact, walkers can join us at other points and still call in the minibus when they have had enough.”

The first phase of the project was delivered with the help of Horsham District Council and a grant from Biffa.

Refreshments are available at Chesworth Farm and Warnham Nature Reserve, with lunch scheduled to be at the Holbrook Club and arrival at New House Farm café at tea time.

The organisers are pleased that mobility scooter and wheelchair users have registered to attend. Unfortunately, a few stretches of the route are unsuitable for this kind of transport but diversions have been prepared and guides will accompany users.

Registration for the walk can be made by email to [email protected] or by calling 07780 701184.

The first 50 people to register will be offered free, health walks caps to protect heads from sun.
