Carfax in Horsham town centre will re-open to traffic on Thursday afternoon (tomorrow) after West Sussex County Council finished improvement works five days earlier than scheduled.
The County Council has completed an £80,000 scheme to make the town centre safer for the public.
Three pedestrian ramps in Carfax, outside Waitrose, Nationwide Building Society and Waterstones, have been reconstructed and repaired.
The Causeway and Blackhorse Way has also been resurfaced.
Darren Faulkner, Principal Engineer for West Sussex County Council, said: “We are delighted to have been able to finish these improvements quicker than anticipated.
“We want town centre traders to know everything is now ‘business as usual’.
“We’d like to take the opportunity to thank them all for their patience and understanding while this work was being done.”
But traders have been in touch with the County Times outraged at their loss of business. Read the full story in tomorrow’s County Times.
