Car '˜significantly damaged' in Handcross arson attack

A car was '˜significantly damaged' after an arson attack in Handcross last night (Tuesday February 9).

Firefighters from Crawley attended the fire in Covert Mead at around 11.50pm.

A spokesman for the fire service said the car was ‘well alight’ on arrival and was ‘significantly damaged’ by the blaze.

They could not confirm the extent of the damage.

Two breathing apparatus and a hose reel were used to tackle the flames.
