CAMPAIGNERS are celebrating with the introduction of a trial 40mph speed limit on a road where they say lives are in danger.
Residents of Alfold Bars have been demanding that a 60mph limit be cut to 40mph on the B2133 Guildford Road.
Campaigner Simon Taube said West Sussex County Council was to be congratulated for implementing the speed limit.
“Surrey County Council are also to be applauded as they have done the same on the other side of the county border so that the speed restriction continues all the way to Alfold.
“While this is an ‘experimental’ period we are confident, just as we are determined, that the 40mph restriction will be made permanent at the end of the trial.”
