Wisborough Green-based Set the Date Catering and Pudding Fairy in Ashington have combined their niche areas of expertise to launch a fun, friendly and interactive program of half-day cooking demonstrations.
Whether you are an experienced cook or an enthusiastic novice, come and learn the time-saving tips of the catering trade – and enjoy tasting each dish as it is created, together with a glass of wine.
Run from a large family kitchen in the attractive countryside location of Wisborough Green, the informal and welcoming four-hour demonstrations run from 10am until 2pm.
A 30-minute meet-and-greet over coffee is followed by a three-hour cooking tutorial. The sessions conclude with a thirty-minute Q&A.
As well as learning time-saving tricks direct from the professionals, participants will be given advice on adapting recipes to suit varying numbers of guests, insights into how to use oven space efficiently, and top tips on pre-preparation to ensure entertaining is as stress-free and enjoyable as possible.
“Armed with our recipe booklets, our aim is that you leave with confidence to try these recipes at home,” says Emma Foden of Set the Date Catering who is running the demonstrations alongside self taught French patissier Laure Moyle of Pudding Fairy.
“Our mission is to show you clever new ways to create fun and innovative dishes without unnecessary strain. Our recipes work and we can’t wait for you to try them.”

Easy Entertaining – Thursday 19th March - Our most popular demonstration showing how to prepare delicious and fun menus that are easy to prepare yet offer the wow factor. (Christmas menu Thursday 19th November)
Cook ahead party menus – Thursday 30th April -Quick, tasty dishes that can be made in advance, popped in the freezer and brought out to impress your family and friends.
Kids’ Birthday Cake Decorating – Thursday 11th June - The insiders’ guide to creating achievable and impressive effects using non-specialist ingredients.
Captivating Canapés – Thursday 24th September - An in-depth look at creating canapés for all occasions and on all budgets, from the deceptively simple to the more elaborate.
Chocolate Intensive – Thursday 8th October - A must-taste specialist session focusing on the intriguing and inventive ways in which chocolate can be used to create knock out lush puddings and irresistible sweet treats, as well as decorate cakes with stunning effects.
This year we are able to offer our classes at the introductory price of £35 each.
