An entrepreneurial duo are hoping to take their textbook recycling business to new heights.

Tom Williams and James Seear, both from Haywards Heath, with the former attending Christ’s Hospital School, won Young Start-up Talent in 2010, a business competition for 16-21-year-olds in the Gatwick Diamond.

The pair buy and sell used textbooks through their business Recyclabook, helping students save cash, and have received further funding grants from Cardiff and York University, where the pair attend.

Tom said: “We were delighted to receive further support through these schemes.”

“It’s obviously been great to be recognised by our universities,” James added.

They were also given the use of an office in York as part of a prize by the University. The pair have also recently launched a a new look website.

While they are looking to strengthen their bases in York and Cardiff, they are also hoping to find volunteers in the Gatwick Diamond to buy used textbooks on A-level results day.
