A fruit farm turned tourist attraction in Wisborough Green has marked its 25th birthday by throwing a party for its supporters.
Fishers Adventure Farm Park began in June 1990 with around 6,000 people coming through its doors.
It has grown enormously in the last 25 years and now welcomes around 178,000 visitors a year and was recently listed among the top 10 UK attractions on Trip Advisor.
Hosted at Fishers Farm, more than 200 guests, including suppliers, neighbours, staff old and new and families who stayed there when it was a campsite, enjoyed an evening of food and entertainment.
There was a hog roast supplied by Michael Courtney Hog Roasts accompanied by local rock band ‘The Blues Blasters’ and live performances in the farm’s ‘Barn Theatre’.
General manager Melanie McAlpine, who organised the event and has been a part of the team since the beginning, said: “It was wonderful to be surrounded by so many of Fishers extended ‘family’.
“We shared memories, laughter and just a few tears.”
Owner Tim Rollings added: “It has been a roller coaster ride. As a small business we are really proud to have given so much fun and enjoyment to local families and also to have provided employment for so many and a structured work place for numerous delightful young people.”
The team has been overwhelmed by cards and congratulations they have received and wanted to thank all their supporters.
