A network for enterprising Horsham mums offering them support, advice and client leads will launch in the town next week.
The Mumpreneurs Networking Club, a Sussex-based business group, will launch its Horsham branch on Wednesday September 26 at 10am with their first meeting on the second floor at Giraffe Cafe in East Street.
The first meeting for newcomers is always free and, unlike other networks, its core meetings are held in term time during school hours – vital for businesswomen who are juggling family commitments with self-employment.
The branch will be led by Thea Jolly, who has three children and is also the director of Fireworks Coaching Ltd in Bolney.
After her second child was born, she decided to train as a life coach so that she could support other mums, who, like herself, were finding it difficult to adjust to motherhood.
She said: “I’m a recovering perfectionist. I help other mums see that if we stop setting impossibly high standards for ourselves we’ll become happier and more confident parents.
“I hope that I can support other business mums in the same way.”
Thea’s role as Horsham MNC manager will run alongside her family and her work as a happiness coach.
She feels that business women in West Sussex will benefit from the support offered by the new Horsham branch of the club.
She explained: “At our meetings you get the chance to talk about your venture in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and after that you can network with other members.
“And it’s amazing how much business you can get through over a cup of tea.”
The core MNC members are mums, but the club welcomes anyone who likes networking in an informal and dynamic environment.
Members pay an annual fee and can network at any of the club’s other branches at no extra cost.
