The chair of Horsham Twinning Association says the links with Horsham’s twin towns remain in place despite the EU Referendum.
“Horsham has enjoyed good relations and made firm friendships with our twin towns in France and Germany over the years,” said chair Oliver Farley.
“Decades of contact and earnest work to increase understanding will not be changed by the referendum result. Naturally, we are shocked at the potential severance of our present formal linkage as nations.
“While we have not yet had extensive contact with Saint Maixent l’Ecole or with Lage, exchanges at a personal level with Continental friends is one of dismay and perplexity.
“We will have to work on in changed circumstances and hope that the revised connections between the UK and its European partner states allows continued scope for the twinning idea.”
