A blaze ripped through a home in Henfield in the early hours of Sunday morning (November 9), damaging the entirety of the building.
The fire broke out at the semi-detached house in Martyn Close at around 2am.
A spokesperson for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was accidental.
The home’s garage and a first floor bedroom were alight.
Twenty five per cent of the building was damaged by fire, with the whole house damaged by heat and smoke.
Firefighters from Horsham, Henfield, Steyning, Brighton and Haywards Heath used four hose reels, eight breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera while they battled the blaze.
The crews extinguished the flames and left the scene at about 4am.
