They are four roads in Billingshurst - Pine Close, Cherry Tree Close, Maple Close and Rowan Drive - in addition to Glebe Way in Wisborough Green.

The works at Maple Close and Rowan Drive were scheduled to last for two days, while all the other procedures were scheduled to take place over one day.

Road closures may be in force on the affected roads, in order to safeguard both the workforce and members of the public.

Access to residents’ properties will be maintained throughout the works, although there may be a delay while material is being laid.

Residents are being warned that the surface of the new carriageways can be slightly sticky, and a residue may remain on the road for a short period of time.

Those living in these areas are therefore advised to take the necessary precautions to avoid this being walked into their property.

The locations are undergoing carriageway micro surfacing – a process which involves overlaying the road with a new bituminous surface.

West Sussex County Council contractor Balfour Beatty is carrying the resurfacing work on the roads.
