The firm was based in Foundry Lane, off the Agates roundabout, but closed in February 2015.

This follows last week’s news that home furnishing retailer Dunelm, which sells bedding, curtains, furniture, beds and mattresses, had submitted an application for the nearby former Beales store in Lower Tanbridge Way.

Meanwhile Bensons for Beds took over the unit in The Forum, formerly occupied by Cargo, earlier this year.

Dreams is not the only major brand looking to return to the town as Starbucks is looking to take over an empty unit in West Street
