Horsham charity Roundabout Talking News held a successful awareness day on Saturday September 22 in Swan Walk shopping centre.
Enthusiastic volunteers were on hand throughout the day to explain the charity’s free service available to those who are unable to read newsprint easily due to visual impairment.
Each week, a team edit articles from the West Sussex County Times.
These are recorded in a fully equipped studio at the Drill Hall and then distributed to listeners in the Horsham District on a memory stick.
Gill Buchanan, centre manager said: “We were delighted to host the Roundabout team in the centre.
“They make such a difference to so many people’s lives, many of them our customers, and we are always pleased to be able to support local charities and initiatives.”
As well as a roundup of local news, a magazine section provides items ranging from travel, poetry, theatre and witty conversation
This year, the charity approaches its 40th anniversary of service to Horsham District.
