During October, GCSE and A-level art students from The Weald School are taking over the window display of Billingshurst Creatives, exhibiting ceramics and mixed media artwork created as part of their course.
The students’ work is there for all to see as they visit the shop and offers a unique opportunity for these talented young artists to mount a public exhibition alongside established artists and craftspeople in the community.
“We have a prominent space in the village and are thrilled to share it with such exciting work” said Louise Scholefield who sells her handmade jewellery through Billingshurst Creatives under her brand The Silver Torch.
Billingshurst Creatives is a unique community shop, selling the work of local artists, designers and craftspeople. It is run by artists, for artists and offers, one-off/limited edition artworks and bespoke craft as well as items to buy in store including: paper craft, jewellery, furnishings, cards, textiles, photography, ceramics, glass wear and a lot more. The high quality of the work thankfully doesn’t mean high prices with work starting at less than £10.
The exhibition of art by students at The Weald School will be in the window of Billingshurst Creatives until October 21st.
