Win your name in a novel by Brighton’s international best-selling crime novelist Peter James

CONCERT goers can win the chance to be featured in an international best-selling author’s next smash hit.

Brighton-based crime author Peter James will be putting a lucky Elkie Brooks concert goers name in his next novel.

Ex-detective Superintendent David Gaylor, is a friend and colleague of Peter James, said: “Roy Grace’s stories are based a little on my background. Many people say I am the real life Roy.”

David has been working with Peter for sixteen years, he helps with background information and goes through police procedures with him.

David said: “We sit down together and go through the plot and outline, we have a chat about it, then Peter does the hard part and writes the novel.”

From time to time Peter James auctions or raffles a name in the book in aid of charity.

At the Knepp Castle event people will have the opportunity to buy a raffle ticket with all the money going to the charity AMBER.

David said: “We don’t know yet which character they will be. Peter waits until he has seen the name before making a decision, but they could be a villain or a victim.”

Peter’s most recent book, Dead Man’s Grip, came out last month and shot straight to the top of the UK’s best seller lists.

His next novel, which will feature the concert goers name, will be out in May 2012.

There will also be other competitions on the day.

Organiser Anne Phesse said: “The people at Audi in Worthing will be bringing along a car. We are going to fill it with balloons and who ever guesses the right amount gets the car for a Saturday and Sunday. We have also begged, borrowed and stolen prizes for a big raffle we will be holding. All the extra money will go to the charity.”

The concert starts at 5pm with gates opening at 3pm. Guests are invited to bring their own picnics, or can enjoy hog roast, barbecue and beer tent on site. Car Parking is free. Tickets are £25 with accompanying under 14s free. Premium tickets £125 – private marquee - champagne reception – canapés - summer buffet - private bar – private toilets - seating near stage.
