Comedy in new direction

Taking comedy in a new and thought-provoking direction, Your Days Are Numbered: The Maths Of Death plays Brighton’s Komedia on Thursday, April 19 (tickets on 0845 293 8480).

Show spokeswoman Flick Morris said: “This intelligent show features the expert stand-up mathematician Matt Parker and writer and comedian Timandra Harkness.

“Death’s a funny thing, as Matt and Timandra will prove with the help of a game show and the Grim Reaper. Observe, learn, and most definitely laugh.

“On average, cows kill 20 people in the US every year. You can cut your chances of dying from a heart attack by 50 per cent if you drink eight bottles of wine a week. You have a 0.000043 per cent chance of dying during this show.

“Matt Parker is possibly the only person to hold the prestigious title of London Mathematical Society Popular Lecturer while simultaneously having a sold-out comedy show at the Edinburgh Fringe. Matt is always keen to mix his two passions of mathematics and stand-up, making mathematics not merely engaging but utterly hilarious.

“Timandra Harkness performs as a solo stand-up as well as taking part in improvised shows with Instant Wit and science-themed comedy with double-act the Comedy Research Project.”
