The day the new Worthing hospice was unveiled

From the artwork on the ceilings and the soothing sound of water features, to the ability to move beds outside – every aspect of the new St Barnabas House hospice in Worthing was designed with patients in mind. The landmark £13.5million building was unveiled in January 2011, revealing it to be a tranquil, welcoming place with endless windows overlooking the beautiful grounds and gardens.

It took eight years of planning and the support of thousands of people, who helped with fundraising, for the new hospice to become a reality, replacing the original building in Columbia Drive. The building in Titnore Lane was purpose-built, following numerous consultations with the patient groups at St Barnabas, relatives, staff and volunteers.
