Helping people make the right care decisions in West Sussex

A refreshed website containing care advice for individuals, families and carers has gone “live”, thanks to West Sussex County Council and the West Sussex Forum.

The independent site – Caringinfo – which was part-funded by the County Council can be found on www.caringinfo.com.

It contains useful advice on areas such as housing needs, daily living needs, financial hints and end of life care as well as links to the West Sussex Care Guide and West Sussex County Council’s Carewise, which helps people make the right choice of care and support, at the right time, with the right funding solution.

Peter Catchpole, West Sussex County Council’s cabinet member for health and adults’ services, said: “From a user’s perspective, I found this an easy site to navigate to find all the information we are likely to require in later life.

“Finding the right care that will suit you in later life is one of the most important decisions you will ever take, and I am sure that people will find this helpful.”

Paul Renshaw, from the West Sussex Forum, which represents independent providers of care, said: “Caringinfo was developed for people concerned about how to plan, provide and pay for long-term care for themselves, a spouse, parent, or loved one.

“The website contains information to help make decisions now and in the years to come that will allow you to retain more control over your life if you need long-term care.”
