GCSEs: Christ’s Hospital head ‘extremely proud’ on results day

Christ’s Hospital’s pupils are celebrating their strong performance at GCSE, 88.4 per cent achieved A*, A or B grades with 65.5 per cent gaining A* or A grades – a brilliant result.

29 pupils gained at least ten A*/A grades and the 31 pupils taking the IGCSE Further Maths* gained five As, 15 A*s and 11 A*s with Distinction between them.

Amongst the highlights are:

Jea-Hong Shin and Emma Toms achieved 12 A*s,

Hans Chan, Elizabeth Coster, Amy Shepherd, and Thomas Sparkes achieved 11 A*s.

John Franklin, head master said: “This fine set of results, along with our excellent A-level and IB results achieved this summer, underlines the consistent pattern of high academic achievement at Christ’s Hospital.

“I am extremely proud of our pupils and their teachers and am confident this cohort will gain outstanding results in two years’ time.”

The IGCSE is an exceptionally rigorous qualification which places emphasis on terminal examination assessment, ensuring Christ’s Hospital pupils gain a qualification which is highly demanding, academically advanced and internationally regarded.
