Roadworks on A23 and M23

THE Highways Agency has released a list of over 500 miles of roadworks that are due to take place before Christmas, some of which will affect the A23 and M23.

There are four sets of roadworks taking place this week on the A23. These are: 2.3 miles near Bolney for a lamp column replacement, 5 miles near Handcross for preparatory works for a widening scheme, 0.7 miles near Pease Pottage for road marking work and 0.5 miles near Pyecombe for a lamp column replacement.

There is also work planned on the M23 near Crawley on the junction 11 slip road and at junction 9, where there will be 10.9 miles of roadworks.

These works are all due to be completed before Christmas. The Highways Agency has decided to lift roadworks on most motorways and major roads over Christmas and New Year to ease pressure on what is one of the busiest times of the year on the roads.
