Low-cost airline to take on more than 1,200 new cabin crew

Low-cost airline easyJet is to recruit more than 1,200 new cabin crew - its largest intake in its 20-year history.

The airline, which has regular flights to and from Gatwick, also recently announced that it was to take on 250 new pilots.

The extra staff are being recruited to help meet expansion plans. The airline flies more than 250 aircraft over 820 routes in 31 countries.

Around half of the new positions will be based in the UK while others will be based across easyJet’s 27 European bases.

easyJet currently employs over 5,500 cabin crew providing services for easyJet’s 70million passengers every year.

Spokeswoman Tina Milton said: “We are delighted to be opening recruitment for more than 1,200 cabin crew positions today.

“Being cabin crew is a very rewarding role – our teams are extremely professional and energetic with a real sense of fun. easyJet is a fantastic company to work for with everyone across the airline working together as one team to ensure we provide the highest standard of service for our passengers.”
