Horsham hardware store reopens

A Horsham hardware store has reopened amid a national lockdown.

Gardner and Scardifield Ltd reopened its Queen Street store yesterday and has introduced restrictions on access, social distancing measures and earlier closing times, according to a statement on Facebook.

Under Government guidelines hardware shops and equipment, plant and tool hire firms are allowed to remain open during the coronavirus lockdown.

The store was temporarily closed from Friday 27, Gardner and Scardifield Ltd said.

When announcing the reopening, a spokesman said: “For any enquiries, please ring 01403 265 191.

“Our other Hardware stores in Lancing, Burgess Hill and Bognor continue to be open.

“For any urgent Building Material enquiries, please contact our Worthing Builders Yard on 01903 205 800.

“For any urgent Electrical enquiries, please contact our Sompting Branch on 01903 763 879.

“Please don’t visit these two branches without contacting them beforehand.

“Please bear in mind that we have a reduced number of staff at all branches which may lead to delays to our normal service.”
