Horsham business wins award for international trade

Ceres, a global leader in clean energy technology, received this year’s Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, a spokesman for the firm said.

The Foundry Lane based firm has a unique fuel cell and electrochemical technology that can be used to provide clean power for homes, businesses and transport or in reverse to generate green hydrogen and future fuels as a route to help solve climate change and accelerate the world’s transition to clean affordable energy.

“It is a testament to the collaboration and commitment of our team that we have continued to grow the business, deliver global customer projects and programmes and to support one another through what has been an extraordinary year.

Based in the UK, Ceres licenses its technology to global partners, such as Bosch in Germany, Miura in Japan, Doosan in South Korea, and Weichai in China. Over the past five years, the Company has generated revenues and other income of over £60 million, predominantly through export, the spokesman added. During 2020, Ceres averaged over 325 employees across its two sites in Horsham and Redhill, adding more than 120 new staff in the period and commissioning a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. Notwithstanding current restrictions on travel, the team continues to find ways to work effectively with commercial partners and to progress new and existing programmes.
