Assurity Consulting is an independent consultancy specialising in health, safety and environmental solutions, employing over 70 local people based at their head office in Horsham.

It was awarded the Horsham District Healthy Workplace Gold Award by cabinet member for a safer and healthier district Sue Rogers from Horsham District Council.

After presenting the award to managing director Paul Foxcroft, Mrs Rogers said: “I am delighted to be presenting Assurity Consulting with this Gold award. To have achieved the gold standard in such a short space of time is an outstanding achievement and very well deserved.”

Last year Assurity Consulting started to offer all of their employees a free annual health check, in partnership with Crawley Health Centre.

The council then carried out a free assessment for the award, helped them develop an action plan and agreed with the health check recommendation that their employees needed to become more physically active.

In response the company put into action a range of ways for their workers to be more healthy. They include buying bicycles for staff to use to get to meetings and to cycle to and from work; providing free fresh fruit to staff and encouraging them to take part in the Love to Ride Horsham Cycle Challenge.

Mr Foxcroft said: “We are delighted to receive this award from HDC, showing that our commitment to looking after our employees has been recognised.

“We are a responsible employer and we believe it is important to look after the welfare of our employees and we will continue to help them to keep fit and healthy.”
