Arora celebrates 10 years

It opened its doors during one of the toughest trading climates following 9/11, but today, the Arora Hotel celebrated ten successful years in Crawley.

Since it opened in November 2001 with 312 rooms, it has welcomed in excess of one million guests and within four years had to be extended to 432 bedrooms.

Together, with 13 meeting rooms, seating nearly 500 delegates, the hotel has positioned itself as one of the foremost providers of accommodation and meeting facilities in the South East.

Recently, the hotel has completely refurbished its 100-seater “Gallucci” Italian Restaurant and extensive 4-storey atrium, which houses an impressive indoor waterfall. Its café has also been upgraded and now stocks the locally-produced `Coffee Real’ brand. And all bedrooms have recently been fitted with 32” LCD screens. A full upgrade to the hotel’s WiFi facilities should be completed by the New Year.

To celebrate the decade of trading, Surinder Arora, founder and chief executive of Arora Hotels, and his team greeted invited guests, including the town’s MP Henry Smith, with a champagne reception and an Italian feast in the Gallucci Restaurant created by Omero Gallucci and head chef, Tony Staples.

“There was never any doubt in my mind about the potential in Crawley,” said Surinder. “The success of the hotel became a foundation for growth in and around Gatwick Airport. Our company now includes the Sofitel at the North Terminal as well as various other commercial properties and hotels in the area and it is fantastic to see that after a decade the Arora Hotel and its staff continue to exceed the expectations of our guests”.

Henry Smith MP said: “A decade ago the new Arora Hotel quickly established itself as one of Crawley’s premier places to stay, conduct business and dine. The Arora is both a striking modern landmark and centre of hospitality.”
