Govia Thameslink Railway, in partnership with the online giant, is rolling out Amazon Hub lockers across its Southern network over the next six months.

The lockers are secure, self-service kiosks that provide customers of the online retailer an alternative delivery option to pick up and return their Amazon packages.

Billingshurst and Pulborough will be amongst the first locations to benefit alongside Christ’s Hospital, Arundel and Amberley.

David Gornall, GTR’s commercial director, said: “The installation of Amazon Hub Locker across our network adds another amenity to make life easier for our busy customers. Although a large majority of the UK is working from home, not everyone can be in for deliveries – especially key workers or other industries now back at work. Our new partnership gives passengers the opportunity to pick-up their Amazon packages on the go as part of their everyday journey.”

Doug Gurr, country manager for Amazon.co.uk, said: “Amazon will go where our customers are and deliver where and when they need us. Rolling out Amazon Hub Lockers with Govia Thameslink Railway is a great opportunity to provide a seamless shopping and delivery experience for our joint customers.”

Shipping to an Amazon Hub Locker at a GTR station is secure and available at no extra cost.

During checkout, customers will select a locker at their chosen train station as their shipping address. Once their package is ready for pickup, customers will receive an e-mail along with a barcode that they’ll be able to scan at the locker, allowing for a contactless way to pick up their package.
