Sunday February 23, 10.30am: Meet in the lay-by near the Cricketers Inn, Duncton (SU 960170). “Soapy Sam was here . . .” Initially we’ll follow the Literary Trail up onto the Downs to join the South Downs Way at Teglease – one of the highest points in Sussex. After a short section of the national trail it’s back down to pretty Graffham and the lovely grounds of Lavington Stud and Seaford College – once the home of Samuel Wilberforce. 7½ miles. Please bring a snack. Pub en-route or at the finish. Gets a bit hilly. Dogs welcome on a lead. Leaders: Keith McKenna and Sally Dench, Footprints of Sussex.

Sunday February 23, 10am: Meet at Cissbury Ring car park – eastern side of Storrington Rise, Findon Valley (turn off A24 at May Tree Avenue) (TQ 128076). Walk via Findon Valley – Lychpole Farm – Beggars Bush – Sompting – Tenants Hill – Cissbury Ring. 9½ miles. Please bring a picnic lunch. Leaders: Gary and Sarah, 07714 161512.

Tuesday February 25, 11am: Meet at Shoreham by Sea, Adur Memorial Ground car park on the west side of the Norfolk Bridge (drivers must approach from the west and turn left into car park which is on the north side of the road). (TQ 210049). Winter Seaside Walk. Walk to Lancing and back near the sea. 6 miles. Drink of snack at Brooklands Park before returning. Bus 700 from Brighton or Worthing every 10 minutes.
