Genna and Allie Rawlins, 17, who are both air cadets, are looking at getting scholarships for university funded by the RAF, with Genna hoping to get a navy scholarship into the Fleet Air Arm and go straight from university into the navy.

Allie, eldest twin by two minutes, explained: “Genna has always wanted to be a pilot and at first I wanted to be a pilot but I got more into science subjects so decided to go into dentistry and fly as a hobby instead so my aim is to get into the RAF as a dentist.”

They have also flown in the Virtual Flight Centre in Coolham and done paragliding at Devil’s Dyke in Brighton.
